Alpargatas Institute promoted the 10th National Seminar of Education for Sports, which gathered 677 educators and school managers from 10 cities in the states of Paraíba and Pernambuco.

Held on December 8, the meeting had lectures about the challenges of school; the school management according to the democratic view, and the contributions of physical education to change the pedagogic culture.

OSESP – The São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra – also accepts donations from individuals. The donation can be 100% deducted – to the 6% limit of income tax due – from the next income tax return.

Donations help to expand the number of children and adolescents at didactic concerts, to increase the number of multiplier teachers trained in music appreciation for young musicians sponsored by Academia de Música and for the public making Monitored Visits to Sala São Paulo.

Construtora Camargo Corrêa is supporting the city government of Ipatinga, MG, in its campaign to fight child sexual abuse and exploitation until next Friday, November 23. The event is called The Right Way Week and has a diversified schedule in several areas of the city.

There will be visits to schools as a means to announce the initiative and educate the students about abuse. Teams will give away leaflets at main gas stations of the city. They will also interact with companies in the Industrial Zone to invite employers and employees to join lectures about the topic.

Havaianas was elected one of the brands with "The Face of Rio" in the third edition of the Marcas dos Cariocas survey.

Conducted by O Globo newspaper and Grupo Troiano de Branding, the survey elected the Rio de Janeiro residents' favorite brands in 29 categories. Almost 5,000 interviews were held during the survey. Answers were spontaneous, with no written or visual suggestions.

Topper announced the new balls that will roll on the fields of the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro state tournaments starting in January 2013. Developed in cooperation with São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) and Rio de Janeiro Football Federation (FERJ), the KV Carbon 12 balls were created from Topper's unique technologies, and had their designs inspired in the Velocity boots.

A group of engineers from the InterCement unit in Pedro Leopoldo, MG, promoted structural improvements to the Municipal School Pedro Leopoldo. The initiative is a part of the Ideal School program, by Camargo Correa Institute (ICC), and was carried out on October 27.

The action gathered 79 volunteers, among InterCement professionals, partner companies, and the communities. Several rooms were painted, and the internal gutter of the school was reformed. The goal was to improve the work and study conditions for the 240 students aged 3 to 6, and the 28 employees who use the facilities.

Organized early in 2011, the Group of Volunteer Friends of Engineering (GAVE) directly gathers 10 professionals of the Pedro Leopoldo unit, and is already planning its next activity, always aiming at improving charity institutions and schools

Construtora Camargo Corrêa is the first to implement the guidelines under the National Covenant of the Construction Industry at the Hydroelectric Plant in Jirau, state of Rondonia. This was the conclusion of Government representatives visiting the works of the plant on November 7. Their intention was to know the technical aspects of the work performed, the management system, and the stage of implementation of the Covenant signed by the company in March, which is aimed at improving the work conditions of the construction industry. The visiting committee was composed by Brizola Neto, Minister of Labor; José Lopes Feijó, assistant of the Chief Minister of the General Secretary of the Presidency, as well as Government and union agents.

The initial portion of the first pipeline in the world to transport exclusively ethanol is completely buried along the 207 kilometers separating Ribeirão Preto (SP), the major producer, and Paulínia (SP), the largest fuel distribution center in the country. With the timetable strictly met by the Ethanol Consortium, led by Construtora Camargo Corrêa, the portion will be inaugurated and come into pre-operation in March 2013, being ready to transport the ethanol produced in the next sugarcane crop, started in April.

About 200 professionals from InterCement units in Ijaci and Santana do Paraíso, MG, promoted the revitalization of municipal schools in their respective cities. The action is part of the Ideal Childhood Program, by Camargo Corrêa Institute (ICC).

In Ijaci, the action gathered 140 people among the business unit employees, partner companies, and families. Volunteers made several improvements to the Municipal School Maria Luiza da Paixão, such as adequacy of the sports court; painting and decoration of class rooms and facades, and a new colored gate.

Havaianas launched a campaign in the US to celebrate the Pink October, by which 15% of the income from the sales of pink flip-flops during October were donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an American organization that promotes breast cancer awareness and early diagnosis.

The action rocked the brand's fan page on Facebook and engaged its fans. In North America, the pink model costs about US$ 22.
