The concessionaire CCR Ponte, that manages the Rio-Niterói Bridge, will start giving basic mechanics classes for women, intended for drivers who want to know something about the operation and maintenance of vehicles.
Led by the concessionaire's service agents, the purpose is to instruct drivers in identifying problems and keeping the vehicle in good condition.
During the class, participants get the basics of an engine operation, tips on preventive maintenance and defensive driving. Instructors use an engine for demonstration and give important tips for safer driving. In practice, they learn how to change the tire of the car.
The drivers receive a booklet to accompany the lesson and at the end of the course, have the opportunity to visit the Center for Traffic Control of the Rio-Niterói Bridge.
The group of "Basic Mechanics for Women" starts on April 4, Thursday, from 8AM to 12PM, at CCR Ponte's Concessionaire headquarters, located at Rua Mario Neves no. 1, in Ilha da Conceição, Niterói, RJ.
The course is free, but sits are limited. Applications are accepted over the number 0800-022-9333.
Women represent 33% of more than 50 million drivers licensed in Brazil, according to the National Department of Traffic (Denatran).
