Construtora Camargo Corrêa reached, on Friday, October 11, the landmark of 40 million meals served at the dining hall of the Jirau Hydroelectric Plant.

The team of the dining hall currently has around 270 employees, including two nutritionists and two graduates on the last year of the Nutrition course. Every day, around 20 thousand meals are served, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and night snack.

To reach 40 million meals, the average consumption of food products was: over 11 million kilos of meat, the equivalent to 23 thousand cows; three million 470 thousand kilos of rice – the equivalent to eighty eight trucks of 39 thousand kilos each; 30 million 250 thousand bread rolls; and 47 million kilos of fruits and vegetables.

Valdir Araújo, administrative assistant in charge of the dining hall at Jirau, celebrates the landmark. "Today we reached the landmark of 40 million meals served since the start of the works, and we are pleased to reach this landmark without any cases of food poisoning. Of course, to achieve this we need to take special precautions, especially on the nutritional part".
