The Welding School of Construtora Camargo Corrêa reached the figure of four thousand welders trained until early February at the Jirau Hydroelectric Plant only, in Porto Velho city, Rondônia state. The initiative has been developed at the work site for five years.
The welder training courses follow global safety and training guidelines from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). For those with no experience in the field, the course can last from 10 to 15 days. For those with basic notions, the certificate can be obtained within four days.
According to Nádia Pozzebon, Training and Development supervisor at Construtora Camargo Corrêa, the program offers a professional development chance. “This projects had the best results. It’s a way of promoting professionals who’ll work at the company.”
A key project in the Federal Government’s Growth Acceleration Program (PAC, Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento), the Jirau Hydroelectric Plant is being constructed by Construtora Camargo Corrêa.
