Construtora Camargo Corrêa launches University Challenge on concrete cycle

Monday, October 07, 2013 - 17:48

Construtora Camargo Corrêa has just launched the University Challenge, an initiative aimed at finding innovative ideas to make the concrete cycle more productive.

Open for graduation or post-graduation students, the challenge works with three different themes:

  1. new construction methodologies,
  2. new materials,
  3. new techniques for planning and monitoring works.

The five best proposals will be selected, which can be presented on site for the company's executives. The three winning teams will share the R$ 27 thousand award and may be invited to be part of partnerships for the development of their ideas with Construtora Camargo Corrêa. The university submitting the largest number of ideas will also be awarded R$ 5 thousand and will receive a lecture on innovation.

Candidates can apply at www.construtoracamargocorrea.com/desafio, which works as a social network, allowing for the company's employees to interact with the students during the selection process. Projects can be registered until December 1st this year, and finalists will be announced on January 20, 2014.

"Our goal is to foster innovation on the value chain of heavy civil construction, so as to increase productivity, with sustainability and safety for our employees. Seeking ideas in the academic environment and executing the best ones is an initiative that also recognizes the importance of university research for the sector's evolution", explains Márcio Perez, executive manager for Innovation and Competitiveness at Construtora Camargo Corrêa.
