Next Sunday, February 24, about 60 students from 3 schools in the Jaci-Paraná district, Porto Velho city, RO, will attend the event "Aqui, Jaci Fala!". The action is part of project Communication and Mobilization to Prevent Sexual Violence, supported by Construtora Camargo Corrêa, to help strengthen a group of youngsters from Rondônia capital city, in the vicinity of Jirau Hydroelectric Plant, about preventing sexual violence.

The mobilization was suggested by children and adolescents participating in the project, and also by Associação de Mulheres. The action will be held in the district's Administrative Square, with actions to promote culture and recreation. Local families and leaders are invited.

With typical food stands (in cooperation with Associação de Mulheres), live radio shows, and photographic exhibition. In addition, activities and games with the youngsters will be held.

The activity will happen from 4PM to 8PM. Organizers expect the event to gather some 50 people.

Community's participation

Project Communication and Mobilization to Prevent Sexual Violence aims to spread contents related to the creation of identity and memory of young people, and to bring light to the Statute of Children and Adolescents, to the community's participation and social mobilization to prevent the several kinds of violence against young people.

The training methodology of the project's working groups includes round tables about selected topics, surveys at school and at the community, group activities and games, presentation of videos and techniques of communication in languages such as photography, radio, and newspaper.
