The companies of CPFL Energia group allocated R$ 2,062,600.00 to Municipal Councils for Children’s and Adolescents’ Rights (CMDCA). This amount benefits 58 cities in the states of São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Goiás, and Paraíba.

Overall, support was given to 89 projects aimed at serving children and adolescents, from 444 applications received. The amounts were transferred in December 2012 through the Municipal Funds for Children’s and Adolescents’ Rights (Fumdicad) - bank accounts directly managed by the Municipal Councils. Among projects sponsored, 67% relate to education, 19% to culture, 8% to health, 6% to sports.
Activities sponsored must fall under one of the following social causes: culture, diversity, fighting child sexual exploitation, environment, social mobilization, professional training, or health. Each entity is given an amount for only one project, which is evaluated as per CPFL criteria and should be aligned with the principles of the Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA): promoting and enforcing children’s and adolescents’ rights, and especially creating opportunities for their best and healthy development. CPFL Group will follow up on the implementation and results of projects proposed during 2013.
Since 2002 CPFL Energia has accrued more than R$ 17 million in funds allocated to Councils. The donation is a tax incentive under Law 8069/1990 - Statute of Children and Adolescents - which allows deducting up to 1% of the income tax for legal entities and 6% for individuals.

Camargo Corrêa Group is a major shareholder among the controlling partners of CPFL Energia.
