Camargo Corrêa Group is the 26th largest in the country, according to the Melhores e Maiores ranking by Exame Magazine

The 2012 Edition of the Melhores e Maiores ranking by Exame Magazine was published last Wednesday (July 4) in São Paulo at an event attended by Minister Guido Mantega (from the National Treasury) and other major businessmen from Brazil. The list once again showed the relevance of Camargo Corrêa Group in the Brazilian business scenario.

Several companies in the Group were highlighted on the ranking, which granted to TOTVS, a Brazilian management software company, the award of company of the year.

The Melhores e Maiores ranking found out that the net revenue of the 500 largest companies in Brazil grew by 7.3% in 2001, overcoming the mark of R$ 1 trillion – a new record. The overall profit, however, decreased by 17%, indicating a challenging scenario faced by the private sector last year.

According to the publication, Camargo Corrêa Group is the 26th largest Brazilian business group in terms of net revenue, on a ranking that includes companies such as Bradesco, Vale, Santander, Itaúsa, Pão de Açúcar, Votorantim, and others.

Companies from the Group such as Construtora Camargo Corrêa, InterCement, Alpargatas, and several CPFL units appear on the ranking of the 500 largest companies in Brazil, according to net revenues.

The construction company also appears among the 10 Brazilian companies that paid most salaries in 2011, holding the 7th position, on a list including Petrobras, the Post Service Company (ECT), Odebrecht, TAM, Embraer, and BRF.

InterCement and Construtora Camargo Corrêa are among the 100 companies that invested the most in 2011, according to the publication.

CPFL among the most profitable

CPFL Piratininga and CPFL Paulista, units of CPFL Energia, are among the most profitable companies of the Melhores e Maiores ranking by Exame magazine, published last Wednesday. CPFL Paulista is one of the companies that paid most taxes in 2011.

CPFL Paulista, another unit of the Group, was considered the second best company in the year for the energy sector. CPRL Piratininga was on the 4th position.

CPFL Brasil and once again CPFL Piratininga appear among the companies that created most wealth per employee in 2011. CPFL Energia is the 29th largest listed company in market worth in Latin America, according to the ranking.

Highlight in the construction industry

Construtora Camargo Corrêa and InterCement were highlights in the civil construction industry, according to Melhores e Maiores magazine.

InterCement is among the companies in the industry generating most wealth per employee (2nd place), and it also appears among the 10 with the greatest growth of net sales. Construtora Camargo Corrêa appears among the best and largest construction companies in the country.

Alpargatas leads the market

Alpargatas was rated by Melhores e Maiores the market leader and is on the ranking of the 10 best of its industry in terms of growth, profitability, current wealth, and wealth per employee.
