InterCement, a holding company for the cement business of Camargo Corrêa Group, was elected yesterday, July 1, by Exame Magazine, as last year's best company in construction.

Melhores e Maiores Award reached its 40th edition and awarded the companies that stood out in their business segment in 2012, the year when InterCement acquired the Portuguese company Cimpor and became the 9th largest cement producer in the world.

The awarding ceremony happened at Sala São Paulo, in São Paulo city, and gathered representatives from the leading companies of Brazil, which together had net revenues of USD 1 trillion in 2012 – a growth of 1.8% from the prior year.

José Édison, CEO of InterCement, received the prize in person.
