Mizuno's shoes are now made with a foil of Ecopet. This is the second natural component to be used in the brand's models, since the Wave product range counts on the PebaxRnew technology, made from a recyclable thermoplastic. The Ecopet production helped to reduce by 47% the CO2 emission and by 33% the energy consumption.

Models Wave Prophecy 2, Wave Creation 14, Wave Prorunner 16, and Wave Prime 9 are some of the brand's tennis with a foil developed in 100% recycled material, with several benefits to improve the performance.

Ecopet is one of the components that helped make Mizuno's 2013 tennis the lightest ever. The new foil is thinner (0.7 millimeters), leaving the upper even lighter, and improving its resistance compared to last year's models.
