Over 3 thousand people gathered in Africa and Europe for voluntary activities

Volunteer team of Doing Good Day in South Africa

On October 20, Camargo Corrêa Group promoted the Doing Good Day in Europe and Africa, with actions held in 5 countries: South Africa, Cape Verde, Egypt, Mozambique and Portugal. In all, around 3 thousand volunteers conducted 14 actions in 10 different cities, benefiting over 8200 people.

In South Africa, which received the Doing Good Day for the first time, around 100 volunteers worked to improve the physical space of three schools. Phambili High School, located in Durban, received painting in its classrooms, in addition to renovations on the floor and replacement of doors and windows. Murchison Primary School, in Port Shepstone, gained a library and a gardening area, while Spes Nova Special Needs School, in Phoenix, has its biology classroom remodeled and its leisure area refurbished.

In Cape Verde, 130 volunteers made electrical, hydraulic and esthetic repairs at the Jardim da Infância Esperança community day care, which also received school supplies.

Al Nahda School and Al Gharbanyat School, both in Alexandria, Egypt, received 300 volunteers, who executed several renovations and structural changes in the environment, from repairs to improve water supply to the leveling of the playground.

With massive support from the local community, the nearly 1400 volunteers from Mozambique organized improvement actions at the Matola Medical Center, the Community Association for Help and Development of Communities - ACDEC, the Bom Samaritano Traffic Center and the 4º Congresso and Socaju primary schools. Among recreational activities and renovations and structural repairs, over 4600 people were reached by the Doing Good Day in the country.

In Portugal, 5 cities participated in the event, which gathered 1000 volunteers. In capital Lisbon, the Social Promotion Center gained new painting and revitalization of its gardens. The Soeiro Pereira Gomes school, in Alhandra, had its gym reformulated and received recreation activities. Exactly the same activities held in Gilvrasino School, in Loulé.

In Souselas, the Kindergarten had its equipment painted, received new fences and gained outdoor gardens, while in Açores, Edifício Solidaried'arte promoted activities with children from the community, had its floors changed and was painted.
