Havaianas launched a campaign in the US to celebrate the Pink October, by which 15% of the income from the sales of pink flip-flops during October were donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, an American organization that promotes breast cancer awareness and early diagnosis.

The action rocked the brand's fan page on Facebook and engaged its fans. In North America, the pink model costs about US$ 22.

Global awareness

Pink October is a movement to raise awareness about breast cancer prevention. It began in the US in the 1990s, when pink ribbons were given to participants of a race for breast cancer survivors.

The celebration was spread to all over the world and is today held at global level, fostering the participation of communities, companies, and entities to fight the disease. Monuments, stores, and enterprises are shaded pink, and ribbons are spread in cities all over the world during the Pink October.
