About 160 teachers joined the seminar, which started the second stage of project Time to Care and Play, in the scope of Ideal Childhood Program, conducted by Camargo Corrêa Institute (ICC). The event discussed public policies for children’s education in the cities of Santo Agostinho, Ipojuca, and Suape, in Pernambuco state.

During the seminar, educators were lectured on the importance of playing, which opened space for debates and proposals of activities and methods to secure the right to play and care of children aged 0 to 5.

The discussions were based on data collected at the project’s first stage, which offered a diagnosis of the situation among children’s education units and daycare centers in Cabo de Santo Agostinho. Such diagnosis was prepared by Instituto Avisa Lá by the end of 2011. The data collected indicated frailties when there’s lack of time to play and for basic care for the children.

Carried out in Cabo do Santo Agostinho by Camargo Corrêa Institute, InterCement, and by the Community Development Committee of the city, the event happened in December and counted on the participation of the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) and the Plan of Social Mobilization for Education from the Department of Education (MEC).
