Responsible for the Camargo Correa Group’s private social investment as a whole up to June 2015, the Camargo Correa Institute (CCI) will now turn its attention specifically to Construtora Camargo Corrêa, seeking to implement socially responsible projects, which have even greater synergies with the company’s businesses, the needs of society and the clients’ socio-environmental strategies.

One of the objectives in this new phase is to improve socially responsible investments through the strengthening of organizations incorporated in high production-potential chains in communities where the company has a presence. "We must propose the improvement of a line of support for projects, strengthening the production chains as a way of adopting a proactive attitude towards social inclusion and community development", declares João Teixeira Pires, coordinator of the transition process at the Camargo Corrêa Institute.

The knowhow accruing from the implementation of the Ideal Future program - focused on increasing income of productive groups together with youth leadership, and the Ideal Infancy Program, - running with projects for improving the protection network for children, will both be very important for designing projects even more aligned to the business and with a greater capacity to generate results.

CCI’s role as coordinator is destined to become increasingly more marked. "We do not operate the projects directly, always taking on the role of operator partners. The coordinator’s role will be even more important now that it is our intention to place the emphasis on the production chains. After all, inter-sector partnerships are fundamental for the successful conclusion of this type of project in the regions where the company operates", says João.

The portfolio of projects to be executed is already in existence at CCI. "There are approximately 50 projects in progress and where we shall need to examine the next step to be taken. These projects include those which have not yet got off the ground in practical terms, but where partnership agreements have already been signed with local communities and partner organizations", João explains.
