A team of more than 130 volunteers, including professionals of InterCement and other partner companies in São Leopoldo city, made on June 30th a real transformation Municipal School of Matos where they participated in the activities of Juntos pela Escola Ideal program (Together for Ideal School). The project is an initiative of Ideal Voluntário (Volunteer Ideal), program supported by Camargo Corrêa Institute, that aims to contribute with improvements in the facilities of local schools.

They changed the roof, reformed the kitchen, the patio and the school's recreation area. They also revitalized the vegetable garden, organized the library, created a garden, and planted trees by the stream located next to school, to prevent silting.

"It was the first of six task forces planned to be held by December 2012. That's a job that involves a coordinated work with the municipal government and its Board of Education and the Board of Works and Public Buildings, and, of course, it's important to search for more partnerships and mobilize even more the participants", says Marci dos Santos Carvalho, Technical Nursing in the unit. "Besides the results for the school, the action provided a gain for us, participants, for allowing a better integration among the group who worked with enthusiasm and a great sense of solidarity while developed something so relevant."
