Volunteers of InterCement revitalize schools in MG

About 200 professionals from InterCement units in Ijaci and Santana do Paraíso, MG, promoted the revitalization of municipal schools in their respective cities. The action is part of the Ideal Childhood Program, by Camargo Corrêa Institute (ICC).

In Ijaci, the action gathered 140 people among the business unit employees, partner companies, and families. Volunteers made several improvements to the Municipal School Maria Luiza da Paixão, such as adequacy of the sports court; painting and decoration of class rooms and facades, and a new colored gate.

On the day of the action, attractions such as street dance, capoeira, jazz dance, Bumba Meu Boi and other plays, as well as drums musical acts involved the guests, in addition to a special show by a band formed by InterCement professionals. Face painting and a playing street with toys brought lots of fun to the kids. Also, hot dogs, cotton candy, pop corn and sodas were distributed.

In Santana do Paraíso, the volunteer action happened on October 20, in Municipal School João Matias de Oliveira. It provided important improvements to the school, such as the installation of canvases at class room windows; guardrails; change of hose supports; installation of fans; door repair; change of kitchen shelves, and painting of class room floors (with special floor paint), interior walls, and external yard walls.

The students also got to action, helping to clean desks and chairs, and painting the baseboards, having fun for participating but also following a strong will to cooperate. The school serves students from the first to the fifth year of Basic Education.
