Employee volunteers of Tavex and Camargo Corrêa prioritize actions with children and young people in situations of social vulnerability

Employee volunteers from Tavex and Camargo Corrêa Shared Services Center chose actions at two social assistance centers in the city of Americana to celebrate the sixth edition of the "Doing Good Day," a corporate volunteer event that gathers all of the companies of the Camargo Corrêa Group. The event will be held next Sunday, August 24, and will also feature fun and educational activities to celebrate the date with children and youths served by these units.

The team from the Tavex factory, along with their family members and friends, will carry out structural renovations and revive the garden, as well as overhaul and assemble the playground of "Associação Americanense de Acolhimento." The entity has been present in Americana for 27 years as a foster home for children aged 0 to 18 years in situations of social vulnerability. Currently, 30 children in situations of risk are served, who stay at the home by court order.

The CSC volunteers will work with the Sociedade de Assistência Social de Americana (Sasa). Work at the institution's headquarters included reconstruction of the boys' and girls' restrooms, assembly of an area for artistic activities, and overall maintenance work.

The Doing Good Day is an annual charitable event organized by the Camargo Corrêa Institute (ICC) since 2009. In 2014, a total of 13 companies present in 15 countries are taking part in the Doing Good Day. Around 22,000 volunteers are expected to be involved.

About the Doing Good Day

This is an initiative of the Ideal Voluntário ("Ideal Volunteer") program run by the Camargo Corrêa Institute, which encourages volunteerism among employees of the companies that comprise the Camargo Corrêa Group. Its main objectives are to contribute to a good relationship between the company and its employees and the community; to articulate with the public sector, private sector, and civil society; to identify talents within the company and in the community; and to celebrate the completion and/or the start of volunteer actions.
