Actions will be carried out in Pedro Leopoldo, Montes Claros, and Santana do Paraíso, and will involve employees from InterCement and Alpargatas

The sixth edition of the "Doing Good Day," a corporate volunteer event that gathers all of the companies of the Camargo Corrêa Group, will feature actions at six schools, healthcare centers, and a set up a "street of services." The event, to be held Sunday, August 24, will also receive fun and educational activities to celebrate the day with the children and the community.

The municipality of Pedro Leopoldo will receive most of the activities. Employee volunteers from InterCement will carry out renovations and painting of the classrooms and exteriors of five schools and two public childcare centers. Healthcare units, including a Center of Medical Specialties and a Women's Health Clinic, will receive electrical, masonry and plumbing renovations.

In Montes Claros, Alpargatas organized a group effort to renovate the São Luiz Rotary School. In Santana do Paraíso, volunteers from InterCement set up a "services and recreation street" in the Industrial district. A mobile unit will perform mammograms, medical and dental care, and tests including blood glucose, blood typing, blood pressure, and BMI. Haircuts were offered in a large tent assembled for this purpose. Issuance of ID Cards and registration of families for the federal government's "Bolsa Familia" benefit program were also available at the location.

The Doing Good Day is an annual charitable event organized by the Camargo Corrêa Institute (ICC) since 2009. In 2014, a total of 13 companies present in 15 countries are taking part in the Doing Good Day. Around 22,000 volunteers are expected to be involved.

About the Doing Good Day

This is an initiative of the Ideal Voluntário ("Ideal Volunteer") program run by the Camargo Corrêa Institute, which encourages volunteerism among employees of the companies that comprise the Camargo Corrêa Group. Its main objectives are to contribute to a good relationship between the company and its employees and the community; to articulate with the public sector, private sector, and civil society; to identify talents within the company and in the community; and to celebrate the completion and/or the start of volunteer actions.
