InterCement invests in Research Center for Innovation and Strategy in Argentina

Agreement signed with IAE Business School, one of the leading universities in the world, will initially last for two years

InterCement, the holding company for the cement business of Camargo Corrêa Group, and IAE Business School, considered one of the top 20 universities in the world for executive education, signed last Monday, in Buenos Aires, an agreement to develop a Research Center for Innovation and Strategy in IAE’s campus. In Argentina, InterCement holds the shareholding control of Loma Negra, the largest cement manufacturer in the country.

The agreement will initially last for two years, and may be extended by contractual amendment. InterCement will invest US$ 100 thousand, and will take a seat in the Research Center’s Board of Directors.  The company will help define the agenda for activities and research, contests, workshops and other points.  InterCement's managers may also attend training sessions and courses – Cycle of Presidents, Mentoring Program, MBA, and Executive MBA: all offered by IAE. 

In Brazil, InterCement has strategic and innovative partnerships with renowned research centers. It sponsors a research center for sustainable construction at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP), where the company will invest R$ 5 million; it also has an agreement amounting to R$ 2.5 million with the Institute for Technological Research (IPT) to produce of cement from construction waste.
