The Camargo Corrêa Group, to assure sustainability of its operations strives in all its operations to generate value for all interest publics and therefore assure ongoing business.
The sustainability agenda is one of the key components and is incorporated in the strategic planning and management of its companies and has evolved over the years, making some marks. The 2006 Sustainability Letter: Challenge and Innovation collected in one document the aspirations of the business in relation to the issue, ratifying the need to innovate processes and products for sustainable development.
The Agenda Climática (Climatic Agenda) of 2009, was another step in this direction establishing nine commitments of the companies in relation to carbon emissions in the businesses and an appropriate structure to discuss the topic continually and perfect its mechanisms. The pursuit of responsible actions advanced in 2012, with the Diretrizes Amazônia (Amazon Guidelines) creating parameters for operations in that region. Water resources were the main theme in 2013 with the launch of the Agenda Água (Water Agenda) to stipulate the ways in which the Group companies would act in the management of this resource under different scenarios.
In 2014, the landmark of social and environmental responsibility was the innovation: the Group, with the support of consultants, working on the development of a tool to measure the impact of the responsibility, management and social investment initiatives. The system developed was brand new in the market and creates a methodology to measure the benefits of social investments and was developed on the basis of two case studies conducted in communities where there are company units: Apiaí, in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, where the first InterCement plant is located and Laguna, in Santa Catarina, where Construtora Camargo Corrêa leads a consortium responsible for the construction of a bridge.
