The Camargo Corrêa Documentation and Heritage Center (CDMCC) is created. Four years later, the CDMCC was to have amassed a collection of 150 thousand images together with films in various formats, as well as the recorded testimonies of about 50 different personalities.

Santista Têxtil acquires Cia. Jauense Industrial, founded by Sebastião Camargo in the nineteen forties. In December, the corporate denomination of Jauense is changed to Santista Têxtil Brasil S.A. The new company now becomes responsible for the production, sales, customer service and administration of Santista Têxtil in Brazil, a multinational company with subsidiaries in Chile and Argentina.

Camargo Corrêa, in association with other leading Brazilian companies, undertakes restoration work on the presidential Alvorada Palace in Brasília.
